Rochester Art Center Welcomes New Executive Director

The Rochester Art Center recently welcomed Sarah Stauder of Milwaukee as the new Executive Director. The Rochester Art Center, a Chamber member since 1994, is very excited for the new addition, who began on Jan. 10. More information, straight from the source (the art center) about Stauder can be found below. Welcome!

Stauder was most recently the Executive Director of The Charles Allis and Villa Terrace Art Museums (CAVT), two historic homes with art collections located in Milwaukee. Prior to becoming Executive Director of CAVT, Sarah served as its Manager of Exhibitions and Collections, bringing both curatorial and administrative experience to the position in Rochester.

Members of the Rochester Art Center’s Executive Director Search Committee included seven members of its board: Lois Till-Tarara, Lois Duffy, Alison Good, Barbara Callaway, Paul Scanlon, Karel Weigel and Scott Groth and two members of its staff: Denise Sorom and Kris Douglas. The Search Committee selected Stauder after conducting a national search and interviewing four final candidates on site.Stauder was selected for the position due to her experience in managing a similarly sized staff and budget, working with both public and private entities for support and managing an active schedule of programs and events.
