Rochester Downtown Alliance Events

Several events are slated in the next few days sponsored by the Rochester Downtown Alliance (RDA) - in fact, you can head over to the Art Walk tonight (7-10 p.m.) immediately following the Chamber's Business After Hours EXTRA! (4-7 p.m., Ramada). Here is a run down straight from RDA:
March Art Walk
Grab your 2008 Signature Art Walk cup and get downtown this THURSDAY March 6, 2008 from 7pm-10pm for the March Art Walk. The theme for this month is but of course.....St. Patrick’s Day! The Art Walk just keeps getting bigger and better. Thank you to everyone who has supported not only the arts, but have contributed to adding a little more "life" downtown. Don't have a glass? No worries...just stop by the Rochester Art Center to purchase one, otherwise start any where along the route.
Flux
Welcome to the latest in downtown late night entertainment! Beginning this FRIDAY, March 7th, the Rochester Art Center will launch Flux, a music, art, and performance featuring house DJs Scott Stulen and David Parisi along with monthly guest artists. On the first Friday of each month (with some exceptions), a new music, art or dance performer will open the evening followed by music spun by house and guest DJs. Enjoy the views of downtown while meeting with friends and experiencing exciting new music and performances. Full schedule of performers will be available at http://www.rochesterartcenter.org/.
Art in the Sky
Artists from all over southeast Minnesota are encouraged to “strut their stuff” along the skyways of downtown Rochester! Up to 12 artists will be selected to paint murals directly on the glass of six prominently located skyways in downtown Rochester. Choose from the following categories: community pride, the arts, cultural diversity, downtown vibrancy, rural roots – or submit your own vision. Over 50,000 individuals who either live or work in downtown Rochester as well as visitors from around the world will have the opportunity to view the award-winning designs beginning mid-May 2008.
