SMIF Has Seed Money Available for Biobusiness Ventures

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) is once again offering funds up to $25,000 in seed capital for biobusinesses through their Bio Seed Fund. These funds are designed to support start up and expanding bio-medical, bio-agriculture and renewable energy businesses.
The Bio Seed Fund is intended for biobusinesses that need capital, business expertise and networking opportunities. The up to $25,000 is available for prototype development, product testing, working capital, patent opinions and filings, new product tools and fixtures, engineering drawings and market and organizational development. Applications are due November 7, 2008.
