Elder Network Seeks Peer Support Volunteers

Are you at least 55 years of age and looking for an opportunity to make a difference in an older adult’s life? The Elder Network is seeking peer support volunteers and will be holding an informational meeting on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Elder Network (1130 ½ 7th St NW, Suite 205, Rochester - next to the Northgate Health Club).

Peer support volunteers visit older adults in Olmsted County who are experiencing difficulty with the challenges and adjustments of growing older. Volunteers provide support and encouragement, assistance with maintaining independence through self-help approaches and also help with accessing community resources.

Elder Network offers full training to volunteers as well as monthly educational opportunities.

Please call 507-285-5272 for more information.
